UC Davis Law Advanced Curriculum
Taught by faculty members who are nationally and internationally recognized leaders in their fields, King Hall's advanced curriculum goes beyond doctrine to explore the theory and history that have shaped the law and continue to shape its future. J.D. and LL.M. students alike engage with ideas at the highest level, developing the analytical depth and intellectual rigor that distinguish King Hall graduates. In order to offer a wide array of elective courses not every class is taught every year.
Hands-on learning is equally central to the law school experience. Through clinics, practicums, externships, simulation courses, and other experiential options, students gain real-world experience, building the practical skills and professional judgment that make for effective lawyers from the first day of practice.
Structured pathways are available for students who want to signal a specific focus. J.D. concentrations, LL.M. concentrations, areas of study, and combined degree programs allow students to delve deeply into a particular field and demonstrate that expertise to future employers, graduate programs, and the communities they will serve.
