Join Rodrigo Guevara '09 for a screening of his new documentary, "Manufacturing Resilience." After the film viewing, UC Davis Law Professor and Co-Director of the UC Davis Labor and Community Center Leticia Saucedo will moderate a panel discussion with Guevara and the documentary's protagonist, Margarita "Mago" Ávalos.

Civil rights attorney-turned-filmmaker Rodrigo Guevara '09 chronicles the extraordinary journey of Margarita “Mago” Ávalos, an Indigenous woman from rural Puebla who transforms her personal history of exploitation into a movement for worker dignity in Mexico’s borderlands.

Once a maquiladora worker in Tijuana, Mago discovered her factory was violating labor laws, a revelation that led her to organize her coworkers and ultimately ignited her rise as a labor-rights leader.
