Hi, I'm Nikki Bhandari. I'm from Nepal. I used to work as a lawyer in corporate law firms, and I also used to do and litigation department.

Why did you choose to pursue the legal field?

I used to debate, and I was very good at speech and all those things at the beginning of my school. And that's why I thought about it. And then I wanted to pursue law.

And also, there are some emotional factors, injustice, and at a [young] age, I used to be very aggressive, aggressive as in emotional and aggressive at the same time. About why this system is like this, why people are not getting justice on time and why people are not, and why people have to face these things when people are not getting basic things like education, food, etc.

So I wanted to work as a lawyer.

How did you hear about UC Davis?

And like, I thought I would go to UC Davis before I apply here and just visited the website. After I came here, I just felt I belonged here.

What’s your favorite part about studying here?

And there are so many things besides, lectures, there is, if you come to King Hall, there is every day, there is one, 1 or 2 programs happening here. And, there are so many activities and so many opportunities, if you can grab them and see the opportunities.

How did it feel to adjust to a new educational system?

I was very prepared to grab the new opportunities and, to be here and as I said, I felt that I belonged here. So I didn't have cultural shock, to be honest. And, I didn't have any other shocks. I am enjoying the food here. And I'm trying new things because I love learning and traveling, and trying to explore different things.

That's why I didn't feel that much difference. But of course, there is a difference in the educational system.

So it took me, even though I was prepared, it took me a little bit of time to think in this system. And, you know, manage the time.

What would you tell someone who is considering coming to UC Davis?

If someone wants to come to UC Davis, then you should definitely come here.
