Paula Antunes (LLM '14 | Brazil)

Since graduating from UC Davis School of Law with her LL.M. in 2014, Paula Antunes has worked in-house as a senior legal manager for Reckitt Benckiser in Brazil, a multinational consumer goods group, overseeing the company’s contracts in the market and supporting her team in preparing and analyzing all the company’s contracts. Recently, Paula was recognized as one of Brazil's top in-house lawyers, being included in the GC Powerlist by the Legal 500.

In 2012, Paula decided to come to UC Davis for an LL.M. program, concentrating in international commercial law. Paula says that her time at Davis helped to broaden her knowledge of the law and develop skills she uses in her current position when supporting international projects and contract negotiations. “I really appreciated the way the classes were organized, based in cases and a lot of discussion that brought different points of view from different students from all around the world.” 

At first, she admitted that she was nervous to come to Davis; however, it did not take long for her to fall in love with the city and the campus. “Since day one, I had all the support that I needed during my time in Davis. The staff was always close and trying their best to provide us the best experience.” Outside of the classroom, Paula enjoyed participating in extracurricular activities, including field trips to the courthouse and local law firms, and short trips around California. 

Paula remembers her time in Davis fondly, saying, " I started it not sure I would be able to complete the whole journey, but in the first year I fell in love with the city and the experience, and when it was over I missed my time in Davis a lot.”
