Honorable Janet Gaard ’83 Elected Presiding Judge of Yolo Superior Court

The Honorable Janet Gaard '83 has been elected as Presiding Judge of the Yolo County Superior Court. As Presiding Judge, she will be responsible for leading the court, and with the assistance of the Court Executive Officer, allocating resources to promote access to justice, provide a forum for the fair and expeditious resolution of disputes, maximize the use of judicial and other resources, increase efficiency in court operations, and enhance service to the public. Judge Gaard was appointed to the court in 2008. She currently presides over family law calendar, drug court, and mental health court.
