L.A. Times Quotes Professor Johnson on ICE Raids and Restaurant Industry

Professor Kevin R. Johnson spoke to the Los Angeles Times for a June 30 story about the detrimental effects of recent immigration enforcement raids on the city’s restaurant industry.

Restaurant worker and social justice advocate groups have held “know your rights” sessions for workers and restaurateurs in Los Angeles, where fears generated by ICE raids have kept some customers away and prevented some restaurant staff from going to work.

Restaurant managers and owners attending such workshops can have a positive effect on staff, Johnson told the Times.

“That moral support right now, I think, goes a long way.”
