The end of the school year celebrations continue unabated. This week, the UC Davis Law Review held the annual Hopkins Reception, which honors a student for the best law review paper and allows for a celebration of a great year of work.

The Law Review has skyrocketed in the rankings in recent years. Its national prominence is a testament to the great work of its student editors.

This year, Megan Knize `08, a former editor in chief, delivered an uplifting keynote. Law Review advisor Professor Eric Fish presented the Patrick J. Hopkins Memorial Writing Award to Natalie Maas, Law Review’s current editor in chief.

Among those in attendance were Professors Lisa Pruitt and John Hunt. Floyd Shimomura ’73, once a professor at King Hall and former law review member, attended the reception. I had a wonderful talk with him and Sue Jones, the law review publications specialist, about recent developments that continue.

It was a festive and fun way to end the Law Review’s year!
