Tonight the Aoki Center is hosting a documentary screening of Sansón and Me. Afterwards, there will be a discussion with Professor Aldana and Professor Chin to address the interconnectedness of immigration law and criminal law systems.

Sansón and Me is a portrayal of the interconnected lives of two Mexican migrants: a young man incarcerated for life and a filmmaker who served as his court interpreter. The documentary highlights how creative expression can spark paths of healing and bonding, emphasizing the need for a justice system that safeguards the most vulnerable individuals instead of perpetuating cycles of violence.

I hope you can attend!
