Confronting Climate Change: In California and Beyond Conference

CELPC Conference
Secretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency Yana Garcia

The Law School events continue to roll. Today, King hall hosted the "Confronting Climate Change: In California and Beyond" conference. The conference was co-sponsored by the UC Davis Environmental Law & Policy Center, the California Lawyers Association Environmental Law Section and the California Public Utilities Commission.

The event included an amazing group of speakers, including Yana Garcia, Secretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency. Garcia is the daughter of a dear friend, Sergio Garcia, who practiced law with me years ago in San Francisco. She gave a wonderful synthesis and review of the environmental issues raised by water and waste in modern California.

We all are proud of the environmental law tradition of King Hall. From Professor Hap Dunning’s groundbreaking work in the law school’s early days to today’s group of environmental law professors (Karrigan Bork, Chris Elmendorf, Rick Frank, Al Lin) and environmental certificate program, King Hall unquestionably is green.
