UC Davis Labor Center Launch Event

On Thursday I had the opportunity to welcome faculty, students, labor leaders, and community members to the celebration of the new UC Davis Labor Center.

Created by co-directors Dr. Robyn Rodriguez and Professor Leticia Saucedo, the new center will promote labor research, teaching, and service. It is the only new labor center in California affiliated with a law school.

At the event, a film was shown on immigrant workers, followed by a keynote by Executive Secretary-Treasurer Lorena Gonzalez of the California Labor Federation. She previously was a legislator.

The event concluded with a mixer in conjunction with UC Davis Law Review, which is holding its annual symposium on Friday, Oct. 6. It was a fantastic time.
