Professor Johnson Presents at California Latino Bench-Bar Leadership Summit
On Oct. 18, Professor Kevin R. Johnson spoke at the California Latino Bench-Bar Leadership Summit hosted by UCLA Law. Johnson participated in a panel, "Justice in Flux," where he discussed immigration on the Supreme Court in the early months of the second Trump administration.

Johnson noted that he had a chance to catch up with UC Davis Law alums, Judge Renee Reyna '06 and Erica Alfaro '05, and California Judicial Appointments Secretary Luis Céspedes at the event.

Johnson also reconnected with court of appeals Justice Victor Rodríguez who shared a photo of a memorable symposium he helped organize when he was a student in 2001. The panelists included Johnson, late Justice and UC Davis Law Professor Cruz Reynoso, and Justice Carlos Moreno.
Kevin R. Johnson is a distinguished professor of law, Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law. Johnson is the director of the Aoki Center for Critical Race and Nation Studies and also has an appointment as professor of Chicana/o studies at UC Davis. He served as dean of UC Davis Law from 2008 to 2024. Johnson is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law and civil rights.
