In the annual competition, named for the late Judge Frances Carr, the first female Sacramento County Superior Court judge, King Hall students participate in four rounds of mock trials presided over by local judges and critiqued by legal professionals. The intra-school competition is presented each year by the UC Davis School of Law Trial Practice Honors Board.

This year's highly successful competition involved 20 student teams competing before distinguished attorneys and judges from the Greater Sacramento area. Several members of the first-year Class of 2018 served as witnesses. Yolo Superior Court Judge Timothy L. Fall presided over the final round.
