Undocumented Student Legal Services Center Draws Media Coverage
A University of California pilot program in which UC Davis School of Law will host a legal services center for undocumented immigrant students at six UC campuses has drawn coverage from the Associated Press. The article was published by numerous news outlets, including the San Francisco Chronicle, Washington Times, KCRA.com, KTVU.com, and many others.
The pilot program, announced by the University of California Office of the President on November 21, will operate out of the UC Davis School of Law Immigration Law Clinic to serve the immigration-related legal needs of students on UC campuses without law schools: UC Merced, UC San Francisco, UC Santa Cruz, UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, and UC Riverside. One of the first of its kind in the nation, the program offers law students the opportunity to represent immigrants in immigration court and before immigration agencies under the direction of staff attorneys.
