Professor Pruitt Speaks at the University of Wisconsin About Rural Justice

On Oct. 29, Professor Lisa R. Pruitt delivered a talk, "Rural Justice," at the University of Wisconsin, Madison Department of Community and Environmental Sociology

Pruitt was invited to discuss her groundbreaking body of work that brings a ruralist lens to myriad legal topics, among them abortion access, substance abuse, termination of parental rights, domestic violence, access to justice, health and human services, and indigent defense.

Professor Sandino Presents at Fulbright Association Conference

Professor David Sandino presented at the 48th Fulbright Association Conference, held Oct. 24-26 at Florida International University in Miami.

Sandino’s presentation was titled “Avoiding Groundwater Overdraft, Land Subsidence, and Contamination: Sustainable Groundwater Management Around the Globe.”  

The Fulbright Association is an independent nonprofit and the American alumni organization of the Fulbright program.

Professor Joslin Presents Work-in-Progress in San Francisco

On Oct. 17, Professor Courtney Joslin presented her work-in-progress “Birth Certificates, Parentage, and Biology” (co-authored with Yale Law School Professor Douglas NeJaime) as part of the UC Law SF Family Law Workshop in San Francisco.  Professor Joslin is a leading scholar in the field of family and relationship recognition, with a particular focus on same-sex and non-marital couples.
